The agricultural training center of Chartres has been using PMB for several years to facilitate the books cataloging and loan management. In December 2020, PMB Services was chosen to make its documentation department more attractive to its users.
Thanks to PMB and PMB Services, the CFA Interpro from Chartres highlights its documentation service
The documentation service of CFA Interpro (Chartres), an essential service for the knowledge access
The information and documentation access may be difficult for students at this particular period. But structures such as the documentation service of the CFA Interpro has the mission to guarantee the knowledge access for his trainees, students and trainers. Malika Landoulsi, librarian in this service, explains : « The purpose of the CFA Interpro of Chartres is to provide resources for apprentices, trainees and CFA trainers to meet the information and documentation needs, the execution and the good continuity of the training proposed. » The CFA Interpro of Chartres is a renowned establishment, offering 26 vocational training courses and bringing together 1,220 apprentices in December 2020.
The documentary fund of the CFA allows students to « forge a professional culture, to give an appetite for documentary research through professional culture, to give an appetite for documentary research through professional books » while promoting access to culture with the provision of manga, comics or novels.
A need for development that leads to a new project with PMB Services
In 2013, the documentation service moved from BCDI3 to PMB by performing their migration autonomously. The PMB base was then hosted at the regional ENT (digital work environment) (Center Val de Loire region). Malika Landoulsi used PMB as a “document management software, allowing me to catalog works and manage loans”. In December 2020, the CFA Interpro decided to call on PMB Services in order to benefit from a hosted solution and offer a ZEN portal to its users. As part of this project, Malika Landoulsi was also given a half-day of configuration and a training day in order to better master some functionalities and optimize her use of PMB. During the recapture hosting, the PMB Services team upgraded to a more recent version and reintegrated the existing PMB data.
Malika Landoulsi appreciated this service because it allowed her to not worry about it and free up time for other activities, unlike the « extremely time-consuming » phase from BCDI to PMB which she had carried out herself.
Every project managed by PMB Services team is garanteed a personalized support because all customers have specific needs. The structure chose to call on PMB Services « in order to benefit from the latest PMB updates, expert assistance and a functional portal, which was not possible by remaining hosted on the ENT (digital work environement) managed by GIP RECIA (Regional Digital Resource Center). » remembers Malika Landoulsi. During this new configuration led by PMB Services, the librarian had access to :
- a configuration preparation document to better define the project ;
- a training time in video-conference ;
- a configuration report including all the elements, sent at the end of the day.
Malika Landoulsi explains : « The day after, I benefited from a day of training at my office around the feeding of the online portal and the services it permits. »
Positive feedback from the documentation service and CFA staff
Malika Landoulsi is satisfied by the follow-up of PMB Services teams : “I was delighted both with the training courses I carried out at your office and those provided, at my workplace, by Claire and Gauthier. I am also satisfied by taking over hosting from my PMB base." The librarian team is also delighted with the ZEN portal, in particular with the visual aspect of the portal, using the colors of the graphic charter which allows "to offer a showcase accessible to the resource center".
The librarian received positive feedback from all the CFA staff. Indeed, the portal highlights and enhance the work of the documentation service. Staff were able to see the benefits of the new portal, in particular: "the facility to connect, the simplicity, clarity and efficiency of the various tabs, the highlighting of new features and the possibility of reservations".
Many thanks to Malika Landoulsi for her testimony.
